At the start of every game you pitch, insist that your coach has another pitcher ready to go.
Blasphemy you say! Wrong, everybody has one of those days, once in a while. If you fail to prepare, you are failing to prepare. Be prepared for everything.
Someone might say this is an indication of a pitcher without faith in herself. I say it is a pitcher who wants to win so badly that she is willing to think of all the possibilities and to prepare for them. It doesn’t mean she won’t fight just as hard but it does mean that we are ready for anything today.
