When you are in the circle you have only one person you can count on to help you kick butt that day. Your catcher is your greatest supporter, someone who can help you perform your best and someone who can be honest with you about the way you are throwing that day.
Your catcher is your friend, which means she will build you up but she also needs to keep it real! She needs to be able to tell you the truth! If a pitch isn’t a strike, after she does everything she can to make it look like a strike, she needs to be able to tell you. If your catcher can’t give you honest feedback you are giving away one of your best tools for success.
Let her build you up, sure, but ask her to keep it real too.
