Volume 3: Trust The Process

From Coach Tory: We are blessed to have the opportunity to work with Coach Tanya Carlisle on the mental game. She does a great job with the Complete Hitting Clinic where a hitter has the opportunity to learn the science of the mental game in a classroom setting and then put that knowledge to work in the batting cage and game.

I have learned so much from working at these clinics that I wanted to share some of the highlights.

The bottom line is a simple one, you need to work on your mental game, and we offer you the opportunity through the Fastpitch Prep Complete Hitting Clinics. Check out the schedule to be sure you don’t miss the next one!

If you are an NBA fan, you’ve been hearing a phrase a lot lately.

“Trust the process” has become the calling card of the Philadelphia 76ers as the rebuild their team through the draft and make a concerted effort to lose games to get better draft picks.

We do not encourage “tanking” but this phrase has a greater meaning for the game of fastpitch!

Trust the process!

As a pitcher, you have no control over what happens after you let go of the pitch. You can make a great pitch and it can get hit, hard! You can throw a poor pitch and have the hitter swing and miss. All you can really control is that you make the best pitch you can.

Work to focus on the process of making a great pitch, or taking a great swing, and you have done your job. Whether you get a hit or an out is going to be determined by many things you cannot control.
