A true waste pitch is just that, a total waste of time!!
If you have an unlimited amount of stamina and energy then using stamina and energy to throw a pitch that really serves little to no purpose make sense.
Wait, you don’t have an unlimited supply?
Never throw a pitch that makes it easy for a hitter to lay off of it. A ball that looks like a ball from the instant it leaves your hand is useless, after about 8 and under.
If you want to get a hitter to chase then throw a pitch that gives the illusion of a strike that ends up off the plate.
