10 Things Players Need To Know: Be Humble

At the highest levels, great athletes know they need their teammates to achieve great things.
Most of my life has been consumed by being an athlete but now I’ve been given the opportunity to teach other athletes this great game, as a college softball coach. On my journey, I’ve learned many things that can benefit ball players at any level. This series is just a few of the things that have helped me as an athlete and also as a coach.

Be humble
Great athletes know they can’t achieve anything alone. They need the help of coaches and other athletes. If athletes are too caught up in themselves, they may struggle at the next level.

Being humble also means that you’re able to accept failure. Humble athletes are able to help teammates when they are struggling on or off the field. Coaches see the benefits of having humble athletes over selfish ones.
